Throughout the years since 1977, Ferrara Fire Apparatus has redefined the way custom fire cabs, chassis and fire bodies, especially extruded fire bodies, are designed and built. Ferrara builds pumpers, tankers, aerial ladders, aerial platforms, rescue, haz-mat, incident command and specialty vehicle configurations.
Ferrara Inferno® and Igniter® custom fire chassis are designed with firefighter safety, ergonomics and serviceability in mind. Outstanding features include; Roll Cage Cab Construction, Unmatched Visibility with over 4,200 square inch windshield area with a 43.1-degree field of view, Stainless Steel Battery Boxes, and Wrap-Around Front Bumper Reinforcement. Available options include Complete Airbag Protection System, Independent Front Suspension, and Smart-Wheel Steering Wheel.
Ferrara manufacturers the widest assortment of fire bodies in the industry including; extruded aluminum, modular welded 12-gauge galvanized steel, 12-gauge stainless steel, 3/16 aluminum, and unitized welded 12-gauge stainless steel with 7-gauge sub-frame. Built to last a lifetime, Ferrara extruded aluminum fire body is the strongest and most durable in the industry. Ferrara sub-frame, compartment frame work, hose bed, wheel wells, beavertails, pump compartment and running board/tailboard assemblies all rely upon heavy-duty extruded aluminum shapes that have a particular design function using 6061-T6 and 6063-T6 certified extrusions and 3/16 thick marine grade aluminum.
